<1> "...จนบัดนี้เราคงมีนักการจัดการสิ่งแวดล้อมมากมาย (รวมไปถึงต่างประเทศด้วย) แต่เหตุไฉนปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมจึงได้เพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมากมาย หลักสูตรสร้างคน คนที่จบมาทำอะไรกันบ้าง ??..."

This is another example of "work will expand to fill the time and the budget available". When there are more "cooks" in a kitchen, there are more issues to resolve.

There are a number of "development projects" that must have an 'environmental impact assessment' (to ensure minimum degradation of our environment or to get approval). There are many such projects from Tambol to National and International levels. There are needs to protect natural resources, biodiversity, human livelihoods, and 'faces' or reputation (and to earn or save money). Needless to say, there are many issues and aspects of environment management. We all know how important is our environment for life!

<2> There are many different paths in managing environment: technological paths (chemicals control, emission controls, wastes management, ...); cultural paths (modifying behaviours (rubbish), design for re-usability, local and backyard greening, ...); political paths (development zoning/curtailing, environmental project funding/support, ...); ...

There are many ways that a multi-disciplinary science and culture of environmental studies can be 'mixed' for any one 'purpose'. We don't know yet 'which formula' work best for 'a purpose'. This brings up another possibility for environmental studies -- a meta study of environmental intervention and assessment measures. In analogy: this is a study of "a linear programming of environmental quantities and methods."
