Asian American amazingly rises to the upper corporate ladder. Therefore, their voice becomes stronger in the American society. Unfortunately, it is not strong enough.
As the article pointed out, Asian is too collective. Instead of one forceful voice, it is not. As a result, their bargaining power in economical, political and social status is very weak.
I don't think that calling Pacific people would mean anything but confuse the people. But as politicians heard more from Asian American, and the trend of Asian Americans becoming politician is better, the issue will be resolved soon.
The question remains to what extent.
