คำว่า "Indigenous Peoples" ที่แปลเป็นไทยว่า "ชนเผ่าพื้นเมือง" หรือ "กลุ่มชาติพันธุ์" (Ethnics) เพื่อใช้แทนคำเดิมว่า "ชนกลุ่มน้อย" (Minority) หรือ ใช้แทนคำเดิมว่า "Aboriginal Peoples" (คนพื้นเมืองดั้งเดิม) ซึ่งคำเดิมเหล่านั้นเป็นคำที่มีลักษณะ "เหยียดเชื้อชาติ"

เพื่อลดกระแสความแตกต่างจากการแบ่งแยกเชื้อชาติด้วยอคติ (discrimination) รวมไปถึงการเหยียด (bullying) ชาติกำเนิด ในเผ่าพันธุ์มนุษย์ฯ เพื่อลดความขัดแย้งและการประจันหน้ากัน (Conflict/Confrontation)
เพื่อให้ทั้งโลกเกิดความเป็นหนึ่งเดียว (Homogeneous) เกิดความปรองดอง (Reconciliation) สมานฉันท์สามัคคี (Harmony/Conformity/Agreement) สงบ (calm) และสันติ (peace) ในที่สุด
