Yes, studying the structure and the root of words (in English and many Latin-based languages) can help. But the study itself is not easy ;-)
My granddaughter (2,7 years old) started learning English and Thai when she was 12 months old. Her learning is mostly mimicking words in “context” – what the words sound like, when or why they are used. She repeats what she learns “constantly” –she chatters a lot ;-) I think this is the “natural way” to learn languages. Our English classes may fail because English is not used enough to create and enable “English speaking environment”.
