นิยมใช้ วลี TEND TO บ่อยครั้งมากกว่า ‘attend to’ เช่น
“Please tend to the store while I’m away.”
วลี ATTEND TO เป็นสำนวนที่ยอมรับมากกว่า
ในความหมาย ‘to wait upon’ หรือ ‘to care for’ เช่น
“Will you attend to that customer?”
“Kindly attend to this matter at once.”
หากแต่ TEND TO มีความหมายที่แน่นอน ว่า “to lean toward” เช่น
“Sam tends to be cautious about new ideas.”
ในการสร้างประโยค หลายแบบ สามารถ ละ TO จาก วลี ได้

เมื่อใช้ ATTEND ให้หมายถึง “to be present at an event/activity”
จะไม่ใช้ร่วมกับ บุพบท ”to” หรือ “at” เพียงตามด้วย “a direct object” เช่น
“You go to university, attend classes, but learn nothing about the real world.”
“They are able to attend important meeting.”
ทํานองเดียวกัน เมื่อใช้ ATTEND ให้หมายถึง “to go regularly to school/church”
ให้ตามด้วย “a direct object” (ไม่ใช้ “to” หรือ “at”) เช่น
“In some part of our country, people still don’t let girls attend school.”
“….. a peak in the number of students attending universities in Sweden.”
อย่า สับสน ความหมายข้างต้น กับ กริยาวลี“attend to something”
ทีหมายถึง “to deal with something” เช่น
“My assistant will attend to all your travel arrangements.”
