Synergy for Implanting Thai Youths to be Good People

This week, I had opportunities to join several valuable projects which I would like to share to the readers. First of all, I would like to talk about the post-election Thai politics a little bit. We got the new cabinet. Several people attacked this cabinet for having a lot of desirable people. I could accept because they came from the election. It took a long time to change from military government to democratic government. In this election, the votes were so close. However, Thaksin’s supporters could not become the government. The past constitution regardless of reality would allow Thaksin government to come back. What would happen then? There would be 700-billion-Bahtrice mortgage. The 300-Baht minimum wage was increased without listening to other parties. Others were the first car project and the absolute amnesty. It will be better to fade off Thaksin’s roles.

The new constitution was drafted. Definitely, it has not been completed yet. Gen. Prayut continues his role as the government leader. Thaksin’s roles greatly fade off. The new generation party happened.

Media seriously attack the Prime Minister. He is quite a good leader. He still listens to several groups’ ideas. He is a patriot to Thailand. Unlike rude Trump, I guarantee that Gen. Prayut is polite.

This government has a lot of weakness. 3 people Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan and Gen. Anupong Paochinda must exist together. It is time for Thais to be bored with them. They too much rely on Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak’s economic team.

Prime Minister Prem had very independent economic team. Prime Minister Prayut still heavily relies on Dr. Somkid’s economic team. It seems that Dr. Somkid wants to have economic power. Gen. Prayut’s economic advisory team should involve these people: Dr. Supachai Panitchpakdi, Mr. Korn Chatikavanij and Dr. Prasarn Trairatvorakul.

From the global political perspective, Thailand is still opened for criticism. I would like to advise Gen. Prayut to be careful. If he stays in this position for a long time, people will seriously attack him. The past target was Thaksin’s morality and ethics issue. He must secure Thais’ trust.

A few days ago, Mr. Suthichai Yoon who favored Gen. Prayut complained that Dr. Witsanu interpreted law to support the government in every case. Suthichai called this “Rule by Law” system. It should be “Rule of Law” which allowed the law to be correctly interpreted. The guilty must be punished instead of being saved.

I say this based on my good intention. When he stays longer in the position, he should well take care of his surrounding people. His surrounding people including military and civilians want him to stay as long as possible. After he becomes out of power, he will be regarded as contributor to Thailand like Gen. Prem Tinnasulanonda.

In conclusion, politics this time seems to be risky. However, the elected professional politicians came to work with him. They may help Gen. Prayut learn and shift paradigm to allow this cabinet to be more open-minded. Then, they can continuously work with good management principles. They can gradually have work continuous improvement. This includes the partial constitution rectification.

I also had an opportunity to preside over the 12-year anniversary of To Be Goodman Foundation meeting. More than 20 high schools in Bangkok join this foundation’s activities. Everyone wants to see this. In the materialistic age like this, Thai youths lack morality and ethics.

I saw two very interesting activities.

One was the good people role model exhibition contest joined by several schools. There were awards for the winners. Each school did very well. It is regretful that this contest was limited to the participating schools. It should be opened to other schools, youths or the general public.

The other was the panel discussion in which young business person who contributed to the society came to share ideas. One panelist was only 24 years old. He was smart but did not work after graduation. He requested the permission from this father to teach slum children for 1 year. He was public-spirited. He contributed to the society. He came to share ideas at this panel discussion.

The other panelist was a smart woman working for Chevron. After working for a while, she saw environmental problems, poverty, garbage and the disadvantage groups’ educational problems. Then, she requested the company to invest in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and contribute to the society.

I would like the Thai and foreign leaders to apply the 17 sustainable development goals to contribute to the society. They should not invest for profit and be selfish without caring for the surrounding communities.

Finally, I used to be invited to be the President of the Lions Club of Bangkok (Rattanachart) for 2 years. Every month, I gave training on human capital’s concepts like 8K’s and 5K’s to support ASEAN community to school in Bangkok and other provinces. I ran this activity to public and private schools. I developed knowledge for Thai youths to be adaptable to ASEAN community. Nowadays, Sustainability Capital and Networking Capital are very important. We cannot stand alone in ASEAN. It is regretful that Thai government does not support Thai youths to study abroad because it is too expensive. From international perspective, it is lookout policy. Thai education limits their learning. It does not broaden Thai children’s paradigm to learn about ASEAN. Other countries think that visiting Thailand provides them knowledge. A good example is Indonesia.

I remember that, during the past 2 years, I stimulated Thai children to understand ASEAN. Then, they are ready to create the current network. If we do not cooperate, we cannot survive. Thai education policy sees that it is very wasteful to go abroad. However, other countries think that it is investment.

I would like to thank Caption Kajit Habanananda, a board of director of Lions Clubs International who took the Lions Club of Bangkok (Rattanachart) to the international level. He kindly joined this project.

The Lions Club of Bangkok (Rattanachart) will have foreign president. His team and I shared the same vision. Instead of having meetings and parties, there will be digital learning development for Thai and foreign youths to learn from E-learning.
