อธิบายว่า คำเสริมท้าย “-est”

ใช้ตามปกติ กับ การเปรียบเทียบ

        “สิ่งของ สามรายการ หรือมากกว่า” เช่น

        “If I have three pigs, I say ‘This is the fattest one.’”

หากแต่ “เมื่อเปรียบเทียบ แต่เพียง สองรายการ”

ให้ใช้ “-er” ซึ่งเป็น การใช้แบบดั้งเดิม เช่น

         “If I have two pigs, I say “This is the fatter one.”

การพูดธรรมดาทั่วไป ใช้ “-est” เพื่อเปรียบเทียบ

กับสิ่งที่มากเกินกว่า สองสิ่ง บ่อยครั้ง

ทางที่ดี ควรจำไว้ อย่าใช้ กับการพุด/เขียน เป็น ทางการ

I spotted words in ‘advertisement language’ being used in ‘cunning way’ for examples:

‘low-er GI’ does not mean ‘good for diabetic’ the products can still be ‘High GI’ but have been with (slightly) less sugar/carbohydrates

‘The b-est of both worlds’ (by intention) means ‘good for this and that (two/both sides/aspects), but (usually) the products are not good for ether at all

‘new-er technology’ = a new invention no one has heard about‘b-est wishes’ = (I) can’t think of a good ‘wish’ (for you/someone)…
