Observing the unobservable
By: Brent Martinez
It is not because I can’t see you that you don’t exist; not because I see you that you exist. You exist because you do, and I know not because I summoned you out of my sophisticated engine of imagination but simply because I empirically perceive.
Science, in common terms, is the study of that which we can observe, it is the search for correct principles, theories, laws and wide range of realities and their continuous examination, expansion, and rediscovery as they remain correct until otherwise proven incorrect.
Scientifically speaking, can you perceive that I am real? I see people, and them people I see, some are like people but are not.
The EYE
Perhaps there is nothing more over used part of our body than our eyes, other than that which one uses when in the “dark.” 555+ The eyes are the most important tool we use to read in details as we encounter the observables – anything that can be perceived by the power of our human senses. Albeit the strength of our contact lenses are remarkable (e.g. a human eye can see a candle light 2 miles away in complete darkness) , these built in binoculars can’t keep up with the velocity of the unobservables – anything that can’t directly be perceived by the power of our human senses.
Many people of the ancients retired to isolation and devoted their lives to capture the image, hear the sound, feel the touch, or smell the scent of these unobservables. Only they could really prove they grasped one of which or fathomed the depths of one of which. As old as science and its followers before the media exposure of the thought to be founders, was the existence of these people. Somehow, how one proves what he discovered is correct is not as easy as taking a shower and exclaiming “eurekaaaaahhhh…” and running out of the streets naked. ^-^
In the 21 first century, science has advanced into venturing into the unknown. Science now can see beyond the capacity of the eye. Indeed, there is more to what meets the eye. This new endeavor may clear the bushes to the tunnel of light, however some may disclaim its findings. With new technology, new approaches, so highly developed, I wonder if we the common people could see through its use that we may experience what unseen realities are.
The path to the unobserved
You may have something in mind that you consider one of the unobservables. Finding the road that leads you to its discovery may not be perceived as we sense those we can see, touch, hear, or smell. I believe the difficulty in observing the unobservables is not because we can’t readily observe them but because we have not or we are deficient of the knowledge and understanding of the path which these unobservables take.
The path lies in each one of us, that I call “revelation.” That revelation depends upon our relationship to, knowledge, and understanding of that unobserved. Nevertheless, unless our eyes are opened, we shall never really see.
OPEN YOUR EYES IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SEE. As I heard and as I was told “seek and ye shall find.”
INCLUSION: My brother’s eyes
One morning my brother woke up, went down the stairs, saw me having coffee and reading a research journal, and oratorially said “ there are people who are blind, there are people who think they see but are actually blind, but there are also people who know they see but they choose to be blind.” I asked him which of them people he was. He said “I am Vincent.” – I smiled and thought at least he sees himself.
