ดร. เอ ที (A.T. Ariyatne) ผู้ก่อตั้งขบวนการสรรโวทัย ในประเทศศรีลัง เป็นผู้มีบทบาทอย่างสูงในการขับเคลื่อนกลุ่มพระพุทธศาสนาเพื่อสังคม (Engaged Buddhism) และขยายอิทธิพลไปทั่วโลก
เป็นที่น่ายินดีว่า ท่านได้รับเชิญจากมหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณมหาวิทยาลัยเพื่อเข้าร่วมงานวิสาขบูชาโลก และกล่าวปาฐกถาพิเศษ เรื่อง "การฟื้นฟูวิกฤติการณ์ของโลกด้วยมุมมองชาวพุทธ" ในวันที่ ๒๓ มีนาคม ๒๕๕๓ ณ มหาจุฬาฯ วังน้อย อยุธยา
A.T. Ariyaratne Born November 5, 1931, Ahangamage Tudor Ariyaratne is the founder of the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement of Sri Lanka. A former high school teacher at Nalanda College, conducted the first shramadanawork camp in 1958, eventually leading the largest non-government organization in the country. The father of six distinguished adult children, he has led tens of thousands of “family gatherings” and meditations with millions of people throughout Sri Lanka and other parts of the world.

เห็นภาพการสอนสมาธิกับคนจำนวนมากแล้ว รู้สึกว่าคนศรีลังกาโชคดีมากที่มีครูสอนที่ดีเช่นนี้
นึกถึงคนอินเดียที่เป็นชาวพุทธหรือฮินดู ที่สนใจจะปฏิบัติธรรม แต่ก็ไม่มีครูที่มีความสามารถ เรียกว่าหาได้น้อยมาก
แล้วก็นึกถึงคนไทย ที่มีครูสอนปฏิบัติมากมาย แต่คนไทยส่วนหนึ่งยังไม่สนใจเลย
