 The Goose and The Stork

        There were a goose and a stork living at a big pond. They were close friends and always looked for food together. One day while the two birds were walking along the pond, there was a heron flying passed them. "Friends, there is another pond over there. It is full of shrimps, shells, crabs and fish," said the heron. So, the goose and the stork flew to the pond which the heron had told them about. At the pond, there was really a lot of food. The goose ate a lot of food while the stork ate just enough to fill himself. "We rarely find a place which is full of food like this. Why do you eat so little?" the goose asked his friend. Oh, I'm full. If I eat too much, I'm afraid that I cannot fly back," answered the stork. "But I can eat a lot more," the goose said and went on eating. At the moment, there was a hunter who came by and saw the two birds. The hunter immediately aimed his arrow at the goose and the stork. By chance, the stork saw the hunter. It cried out to warn the goose before it flew away. The goose who had eaten too much could not fly. It was finally shot by the hunter.  

                                                               ห่านกับนกกระสา  

     ที่ริมหนองน้ำใหญ่แห่งหนึ่ง เป็นที่อาศัยของห่านและนกกระสาทั้งคู่เป็นเพื่อนสนิทกัน และมักออกหากินด้วยกันเสมอ วันหนึ่งในขณะที่ทั้งสองกำลังเดินเลียบหนองน้ำอยู่มีนกกระยางตัวหนึ่งบินผ่านมา "นี่แน่ะเพื่อน ตรงโน้นมีหนองน้ำอีกแห่งหนึ่งที่นั่นมีกุ้ง หอย ปู ปลา เยอะแยะเชียว" นกกระยางบอก นกกระสาและห่านจึงพากันบินไปยังหนองน้ำตามคำบอกเล่าของนกกระยาง ที่หนองน้ำแห่งนั้นมีอาหารอุดมสมบูรณ์จริงตามที่นกกระยางพูด ห่านนั้นกินอาหารมากจนพุงกางในขณะที่นกกระสากินพออิ่ม "นานๆ ถึงจะพบแหล่งอาหารอุดมสมบูรณ์อย่างนี้ ทำไมท่านถึงกินเพียงนิดเดียวล่ะ" ห่านถาม " ข้าอิ่มแล้ว ถ้ากินมากเกินไป ข้ากลัวว่าจะบินกลับไม่ไหว" นกกระสาตอบ "แต่ข้ายังกินได้อีกเยอะ" ห่านพูดแล้วก็ก้มหน้าก้มตากินต่อไป ขณะนั้นมีนายพรานคนหนึ่งเดินผ่านมาเห็นนกทั้งสองเข้า นายพรานจึงยกธนูขึ้นเล็งไปที่นกสองตัวนั้นทันที นกกระสาบังเอิญเหลือบมาเห็นนายพรานเข้าพอดี จึงร้องเตือนห่านก่อนที่ตัวเองจะรีบบินหนีไป ห่านซึ่งกินอาหารมากเกินไปจนบินหนีไม่ไหวมันจึงถูกนายพรานยิงตายในที่สุด

The Rat and The Frog

One day, a country rat wanted to go to town. He prepared imself and started his journey. It was hot on the way. So the rat was tired and thirsty. He then stopped near a big pond...to drink water for refreshing himself...and to find some fruits to eat. Near that pond, there lived a frog. When the rat saw the frog, he walked straight towards him. He forced the frog to take him to the other side of the pond. But the frog refused. The rat beat up the frog badly. So the frog had to give up and agreed to take him across the pond. The rat was afraid that the frog might leave him in the middle of the pond, so he tied his leg with the frog's leg. When they were in the middle of the pond, the frog stoped swimming, wanting the rat to drown. The rat tried to swim to save himself from drowning while the frog looked on with satisfaction. Meanwhile, there was a hawk flying by the pond and saw the two animals. The hawk grabbed both of them for his meal.

หนูและกบเจ้าเลห์

วันหนึ่งหนูที่อาศัยอยู่ในชนบทตัวหนึ่งคิดอยากจะเข้าไปเที่ยวในเมือง มันจึงจัดเตรียมข้าวของแล้วเิริ่มต้นออกเดินทางเข้าเมือง ระหว่างทางอากาศค่อยๆ ร้อนขึ้นทำให้เจ้าหนูรู้สึกอ่อนเพลียและกระหายน้ำมันจึงแวะหยุดพักที่ริมบึงใหญ่แห่งหนึ่งเพื่อหาน้ำดื่มให้ร่างกาายสดชื่นขึ้นและหาผลไม้กินให้อิ่มท้อง ใกล้ๆ บึงใหญ่แห่งนั้นเป็นที่อาศัยของกบตัวหนึ่งเมื่อหนูเห็นกบมันจึงเดินรี่เข้าไปหาแล้วขู่บังคับให้กบพามันข้ามไปยังอีกฟากหนึ่งแต่กบปฏิเสธเจ้าหนูจึงใช้กำลังเข้าทำร้ายกบจนกบต้องยอมแพ้และตกลงที่จะพาหนูข้ามฟากไปเจ้าหนูกลัวกบจะปล่อยมันทิ้งไว้กลางทางจึงเอาเชือกมาผูกขาของมันและขาของกบไว้ด้วยกัน เมื่อกบพาหนูไปถึงกลางบึง มันก็หยุดว่ายน้ำ เพื่อแกล้งให้หนูจมน้ำตาย หนูตะเกียกตะกายเพื่อใช่วยไม่ให้ตัวเองจมน้ำโดยมีเจ้ากบมองด้วยความสะใจขณะนั้นเองมีเหยี่ยวตัวหนึ่งบินผ่านมาเห็นเข้ามันจึงตรงเข้าโฉบเอาสัตว์ทังสองไปกินเป็นอาหาร
