Today is another day - a brand new day.
I dug out an old PC to use as a stand-in until I can sort out my usual notebook. (It suffered something during the big wet 2013 in Dreamland. It won't charge up. Being a Dell it won't accept non-Dell chargers. I have looked on the Net - it seems that the power jack is the problem and Dell's solution is to replace the motherboard which costs "ouch"! or I can do a backyard surgery and resolder bad joints that Dell manufacturing processes left there as a legacy of unintended "reason-for-upgrade"). After some persuation, this old PC kicks and purrs loudly. 2 Ubuntu installs later (I had a Hardy CD to start with, and upgraded to Precise...to upgrade Firefox browser. I ended up downloading the latest firefox from Mozzilla.org) this Celeron PC is serving me in a manner - I should be grateful.
It gives me a way to get to Gotoknow -- heavens knows how bad is this road to get here. But I am here again. That counts ;-)
