"The alternative to the release of animals is to eat less meat" someone said on tv regarding the campaign to educate the public against releasing animals such as birds, rabbits, bullfrogs and terrapins to the wild (nature reserves) during Vesak day. I kinda like the idea.

Imagine if everyone stops eating meat for a day, how many lives would be saved?

That way the demand will reduce and the supply will automatically be reduced.

Today is Vesak day in Singapore ;)

For people who say they need meat for proteins, they know they can have better proteins from common vegetables, seeds, beans and lentils.

Let us uphold the "right to life" for all our fellow beings.

Hi Sr,

The proteins in my diet also come from beans, lentils and vegetables. I do take some dairy products such as milk, cheese and eggs once in a while. I agree with you that we do have a choice in our diet and live our life towards more compassionate eating.
