I have learned not to rely on trust and apparent openness from experiences in the past. I have also learned that most people are riding the “selfish genes” (what’s in it for me/profit/win/fittest/…) train. And it only takes one rotten onion to spoil the soup. We spend a lot of resources (time, energy, money, materials,…) in life and society to deal with “dishonesty”. And people are very innovative when it comes to exploit other people. So, we are forever learning human negativity. I doubt that AIs understand that.
