We have read a lot of “..มีวรรณะงดงามยิ่งนัก เปล่งรัศมีให้สว่างทั่วพระเชตวัน..”. This description of brahmans ([ancient Indian] men with fair skin) who came to pay respect and to question the Buddha at Cetavanna retreat, is very likely biased (by the writers of the attha).

King Asoka was said to have dark and rough appearance (not of good วรรณะ].
