I have just looked at the news on a new chicken farm in a rural province (in Thailand). Hectares of bushland (aerial picture shows the cleared area is larger than the ‘area of the village’ nearby) has been cleared to build large sheds (or coops or shacks) to keep ‘millions of’ chickens prisoners (food for man, crocodile, fish and prawn,.. fertilizer for farms, collagen for women,…). The news is about balancing profit and other people and everyone’s environment. The scale of this new farm clearly shows the need for ‘EIA’ (Environmental Impacts Assessment) not just an ‘official’ permit from a ‘public servant’ (who may not have the public’s interest in view).

We do need innovative ways/futures. Not only in political areas but also in our inter-dependencies with nature. We need to think about Nature-friendly housing, NF transportation, NF food production, NF tourism, NF industries,…

In my opinion NF politics should be about NF policies for NF relations and NF people. Political institutions should come round to NF regimes by themselves to survive or become extinct in the Near Future.
