Dear ยายธี,
Me too! I am also confused about Man –is Man a part of Nature (Evolution) or a product of God (Divinity/Intelligent Design)? Is Man here to improve Nature slow processes (evolution) or to destroy Nature’s interactive peace- making (small and intermittent change at a time)? does Man realize his role and duties in relation to his own need and want (his survival), his social extensions (family, clan,… country, world, and beyond), his physical ecology, his learning, limitations, drive and side or peripheral support,…?
Man is confused and make others confused. Man is proud of his Intelligence, even to the point that winning (over peers and other beings and Nature) is attributed to Intelligence. Man forgives his destructive ways (wars, wastes, and wealth) in the name of ‘progress’ (also called ‘civilization’, advances in …). Man prefers ‘excesses’ over ‘deficiency’ or ‘sufficiency’ (more is better, the more the better). In Buddhistic term, Tanha rules over Man (in comparison to God’s wish for Man ‘to love his neighbours’ or that ‘all men are brothers’).
Then I see many individuals who feed refugees, who help animals, who care for trees and lands and waters and all that live in this world. Am I wrong to use statistics (law of large number instead of law of chaos) to profile/model Man this way? Am I a part of Man and in the end will ‘naturally’ decide and do as other Man?
