I recall reading a Buddhadaasa’s book on ‘politics’. The late venerable talked about ‘excesses’ in eating/consuming, hoarding/accumulating, and acting/pretending. In short if we live by our need, the world will be in peace, but we live by our want (in excess) the world is now in turmoil. He stated because one has more others will have less. Having less forces people to do ‘all and any’ things to get more. The worse is when those who have more want more and can get more and more. So enforces inequality and fuel rounds of struggles and ‘wars’.

I agree with Him.

More I note that rich countries are doing the same as people. The more they have, the more they want. Poorer countries have to struggle more and make wars to get more.

Let us think of ‘world population; and Chinese leaders who have broken the ‘box’ (that says ‘more mouths to feed, poorer we become’). The motto now (as practiced by many countries) ‘more mouths, more economic growth, higher GDP, richer (a few of) we become’.

I am crowing for nothing. Yes? ;-);-) ;-)
