1) The first pic is probably of the tree that features in the movie "The God must be crazy 2" - a very funny movie. (Maybe available on Youtube. Search the Internet for the whole series.)
2) the tree at Kanchanaburi may be over 100 years old (rings of a lower branch can tell a lot of stories, But please don't take sample from the main trunk!)
3) a good news (but sadly from our neighbour country. Thailand government has yet to show a Green National Agenda. Coal-fired power plants - at Krabi and Songkhla - are very much anti-green agenda.)
