Special units in armed forces (all countried around the world have a few of these ready for contingency) are trained to work 'well' even under extreme fear or stress.

Students fear failing exams; partners fear being cheated; many politicians fear getting causght, monks fear becoming arahants -- pure vegetables;... Fear is everywhere and anytime. Modern ways of life have added fear of food (fats, sugar, salt,...), chemicals, cancer, pollution, crime, ... So we have to learn to be careful/mindful (appamaada). We do not let fear take over our life nor we ignore fear. We watch fear, see what it is doing, or going ;-)
