A life is too short for detailed observations and analyses of events, so 'history' approximates by a a selected frame of reference (in plays and movies we call this frame 'spotlight' - on stars or main characters). Spotlight not only makes something easier to see, it also dims other things (into background). So as we now see. What we call 'history' may be just "view" in a street with lights.
