The snake is a 'usually' harmless python. It is not poisonous. It is not aggressive. (It would usually avoid people or go on its way rather than attack people.) Python also eat rats, mice, and other 'poisonous snakes'.

How many people have been bitten or harmed by pythons in the last 100 years? Less than 10 and only when trying to catch and hold pythons. Pythons would defend themselves only when 'pushed to the corner'. Fear of python is baseless and irrational. (This fear very likely comes from fear of 'poisonous' snakes or stories in the Bible and folklores.)

Please let that python go - in the wild. (Last time we visited เขาใหญ่ national park -- and wildlife reserve, we went on a wildlife spotting tour one night and we saw lots of rats, 2-3 dear, 1 house dog, and 1 small -less than 0.5m long- python. They could do with more animals and 'predators' like a python.)
