Yep, leaves are money!

At my place at the moment there are a lot of dry leaves (due to lack of summer rains). My leaves are mulch and potential bushfire hazards. But I was told when I was young people soaked dry leaves, arranged into a sheet between bamboo mats and dried the sheet to make decorative wall and painting canvas. And that in Laos between change of governments, people use 'money' in toilet and cooking. Yep 'money' of the previous government became leaves.
