It depends on our definitions of 'egg' and 'chicken'. We will get into infinite entanglement when we enter a revolving door of 'egg <---> chicken'.
There is enough archelogical evidence to show that (ancient) 'eggs' (of dinosaurs) had existed many millions of years before 'chickens' (a modern animal; as we see them ==today==) were found on Earth.
By theories of evolution; (by mutation) eggs gave rise to ancestors of chickens. This happened many times till some ancient eggs give rise to 'modern chickens'. Now now chickens lay eggs. One day by mutation some modern eggs will give rise to successors of chickens (for successors of Man to ask 'which comes first, egg or ...).
