Sections in .pdf files can be 'selected, copied and pasted as text' which would allow rendering for easy reading for people with low-res computers (like me). A good number of free pdf-to-text tools (on Linux: Mint, Suse, Ubuntu, ... eg. gPDFText, PDF Mod, ...) (Sorry, I don't use Windows or MacOS.)
