USA & AUS might have started on agriculture on history books, but USA came to prosperity on "the trains" (of slaughtered bison buffalos) and AUS on the "sheepbacks" (live export to Isamic countries). In the last 100 years both USA and AUS have been busy digging up their land for "gold" (and other minerals including coal, oil and uranium). Today, both countries are fracking for coal seam gas (CSG) and polluting agricultural lands. It seems that the (global corporate) miners are more powerful than farmers and governments.

NZ are still riding on sheepbacks and vocanos. NZ is much cleaner and greener and becoming h[e]avens for the super rich. 

Thailand could have been a utopian place for tourists (exporting charms, easy lifestyles and good clean environment with intellectual religious underlining, with a sufficient and sustainable economy. But we took wrong turns again and again. Now we are lost!
