I just had a look at Greece under imposed austerity.

Greece has been developing their people (via education systems) to work in modern professions, in cities, in modern industries. Like in Thailand parents work the land in rural areas to give their children education (to work in cities). Now that all those modern works in the cities have dried up (under austerity). Professionals are out of work and returning to live with their parents in the rural areas.

The flipped side of this is after working their guts out to give their children education. The parents now have to educate their children on their family low-tech, rural work (mostly on the land) so that their children and grand children can survive (austerity).

Thailand can learn a lesson from this.
