เมื่อ 1. A = 0 B ≠ 0

2. A ≠ 0 B = 0

โดยยกตัวอย่างโจทย์ 2 ข้อ 2 กรณี ให้นักเรียนพิจารณาความแตกต่างแล้วช่วยกันทำ จากนั้นให้นักเรียนสรุปว่า แต่ละกรณีแตกต่างกันอย่างไร ซึ่งทั้งหมดนี้ใช้การสอนแบบความคิดรวบยอด

คือ กรณีที่ 1 จะได้ กราฟขนานกับแกน X

กรณีที่ 2 จะได้กราฟขนานกับแกน Y..."

It has been many years since I last looked at mathematics like this.

I don't know if the graph should be for

a 'function' Ax + By + C [reads "a x plus b y plus c]

or an 'equation' Ax + By + C = 0 [reads a x plus b y plus c equal zero].

There are differences between 'functions' and 'equations'.

I wonder why cases:

when 'A = 0 AND B = 0' [reads "a equals zero AND b equals zero"]

and when 'A ≠ 0 AND B ≠ 0' [reads "a not (equals) zero AND b not (equals) zero"]

are not explored.

Mathematics is about exploring possibilities in our mind. We should take every opportunity to explore all possibilities. ;-)

NB. The logical connector 'AND' is in capitals to make it difference from the English conjunction 'and'.
