"R.O" = Reverse Osmosis? Please tell us more about this.

There are new desalination technologies like nanotube membrane, aquaporin (proteins) membrane and 'forward osmosis' (which claims more efficient than reverse osmosis).

Thailand perhaps does not need desalination yet but 'water management' and in some places 'water purification' (to remove toxic contaminants and to make fit for drinking -- lot of people in-lands far from the sea (2 billion people worldwide) have some water but the water is dirty, contaminated and unfit for drinking.

I think the problem is: to supply drinking water to people 500+ Km from the sea, no electricity, no money.
