Ummmh... poverty leads to lack of education; and not getting education places people in poverty; so this is a re-inforcing feedback.

Research has shown that helping girls/women in education will help them to help their families and their children out of poverty and into higher education.

No firm results for boys/men only remarks that they seem more  indulgent and wasting resources on smoke and alcohol ;-)
