Wastage in Thailand - for whom?
My daily news scan on this Saturday morning (12 Feb 2565) put me in questioning mode and writing this post. We are aware of the recent political play in Thailand Parliament. Another columnist in ฝ่ายค้านที่ไม่ได้เรื่อง https://www.thaipost.net/columnist-people/83833/ describes some manners (tactics) the opposition have used to disrupt the parliamentary process and government's operation.
We are by laws required to elect parliament members to do the work for the running of the country (for the people as specified by section 114 of the Constitution --above). Clearly, some MPs are bleaching the Constitution (we do not know --for sure-- for whom?) and should be penalized (by the Constitution Court). We cannot expect those MPs to resign for failing to perform or to comply with the Constitute. Because we know full-well that they are not as ‘honorable’ as they are called (in Parliament). So what can we as plain people (and taxpayers) do to stop them wasting our country?

The scene is a common one. Any high profile event is crowded by high ranking officials (the number far greater than what necessary for the event). Some in the visiting convoy and some in the reception ritual. In this case a wife of a well-known German soccer player was mugged and robbed while walking on a beach in Southern Thailand. (It is immaterial whether this happened in Phuget or in Pang-nga. It happened to a tourist to Thailand in Thailand. It doe not make ‘good news’ for Thailand.)
What is the wastage here? And to whom? We can see excess resource getting used over-proportional to what required. (A simple electronic memo to the local police would do - don't you think?) To affirm Thailand's concern over the safety of tourists from overseas, continuous public relations in other languages would be far more suitable than a single gathering of high ranking officials in a photo shoot. We can benefit more from bloggers is forums on the Internet --at much lower cost-- than wasting tax money on waste-time of officials on waste-ceremony and waste of ‘high authority’ on what should have been ‘the first policy or even high priority operation’ for tourist police.
Why are we still wasting tax money while people are suffering (economic downturn -due to COVID-19)? For whom these waste of tax money benefit?
Do we want to take this time and time again? Can we do something about this?
