1. used as a plural noun
The contents /'kɒntents/ of something
such as a box or room are the things inside it.

Contents is a plural noun. Don't talk about 'a content'.

someone is happy and satisfied.
Contented can be used in front of a noun or after a linking verb.
The firm has a loyal and contented labour force.
For ten years they lived like this and were perfectly contented.
5. 'content' used as a verb
If you content /kən'tent/ yourself with doing something,
you are satisfied with it and don't try to do other things.
Most manufacturers content themselves with updating existing models.
