ตามปกติใช้ “carry” และ “take” เพื่อกล่าวว่า
บางคน “เคลื่อนย้าย” บุคคล/สิ่งของ จากที่หนึ่งไปยังอีกที่หนึ่ง
เมื่อใช้ “carry” เป็นการ แสดงว่า สิ่งนั้น ค่อนข้างมี น้ำหนักมากเช่น
‘He picked up his suitcase and carried it into the room.’
‘My father carriedus on his shoulders.’
‘She gave me some books to take home.’
ใช้ทำการขนส่งสามารถกล่าวได้ว่า
“’a ship/train/lorry (truck)’ is carrying” สินค้า เฉพาะชนิดหนึ่ง
เช่นเดียวกัน ยังสามารถกล่าวได้ว่า
“‘a plane/ship/train/หรือ bus’ is carrying passengers.” เช่น
‘We passed tankers carryingcrude oil.’
‘The aircraft was carrying145 passengers and crew.’
สามารถใช้ “take” ในทำนองเดียวกัน
เพียงแต่เมื่อ ระบุว่า จะ “take” บางคน/สิ่ง นั้นไปยังที่ใด
เช่นกล่าวว่า “The ship was taking crude oil to Rotterdam.’
แต่ไม่อาจใช้ว่า “The ship was taking crude oil.” เช่น
‘This is the first of several aircraft to take British aid to the area.’
ยังสามารถ กล่าวว่า
“ยานพาหนะขนาดเล็ก เช่น “‘a car’ take you somewhere” เช่น
‘The taxi took him back to the station.’
