โดย “better” เป็นรูป comparative ของทั้ง “good” และ “well”
อย่ากล่าวว่า “บางสิ่ง เป็น ‘more good’” หรือ “ทำอย่าง ‘more well’”
ให้กล่าวว่า “it is better” หรือ “is done better” เช่น
‘The results were better than expected.’
‘Some people could ski better than others.’
สามารถใช้ คำเช่น “even” “far” “a lot of” และ “much” นำหน้า “better” เช่น
‘Bernard knew him even better than Annette did.’
‘I decided that it would be far better just to wait.’
‘I always feel much better after a bath.’
การใช้ BETTER ใน ความหมายอื่น
สามารถกล่าวว่า บางคน “is better” หรือ “is feeling better”
