สองเกลอกับขวาน (The Two Travelers and The Axe)
ชายสองคนเป็นเพื่อนรักกัน วันหนึ่งทั้งสองเดินมาเจอขวานเล่มหนึ่งตกอยู่ “ข้าเจอมันก่อน ขวานเล่มนี้ต้องเป็นของข้า” ชายคนหนึ่งพูดขึ้น แล้วหยิบขวานมาถือไว้ “เราเจอมันพร้อมกัน ขวานจะเป็นของเจ้าคนเดียวได้อย่างไร” ในขณะนั้นเอง เจ้าของขวานก็เดินมาเห็นเข้า “ช่วยด้วย! มีคนขโมยขวานของข้า” ชายถือขวานตกใจ “แย่แล้วพวกเราจะทำอย่างไรกันดี” เพื่อนรักของเขาจึงพูดขึ้นว่า “อย่าพูดว่าพวกเรา เพราะข้าไม่ได้เกี่ยวอะไรด้วยเลย”
เรื่องนี้สอนให้รู้ว่า: หากคิดไม่ดีกับผู้อื่น ก็อย่าหวังว่าผู้อื่นคิดดีกับเรา
One
day two men were best friends found an axe the path. One of them picked up the
axe from the floor and said “I found it first. It is mine.” “We found it. Don’t
say you found it” replied the other man. Soon, the owner of the axe came and
shouted “Help Help!! Someone stole my axe.” The man who held the axe was
frightened and said “What should we do?” His friend said “Do not say 'we',
because I was not involved with this.”
Moral of the story : He who shares the danger ought to
share the prize.
