ในการ “bid for” บางสิ่ง ที่นำมาขาย หมายถึง
“เสนอเงินจำนวนหนึ่งเพื่อจ่ายให้แก่สิ่งนั้น”

รูป past และ past participle คือ “bid” เช่น
