The Days of my Life

Today is somewhat special for me though I cannot see any things our of ordinary yet. I got up before 4AM, sat down on my favorite chair, looked out of the window and saw that it was a beautiful dawn. The air was just nice 24C. The winds was very gentle and freshening. There was peaceful silence and calmness in the surrounding. I felt quiet joy to be a part of this moment in space-time.

I have lived for 25,931 days - a longest record for me. Not all those days were as joyous. I looked around me, at pictures and memorabilia that marked some of those days and realized that they were very few. Less than 0.1% were really memorable days in life.

I could do with a change, a challenge and an opportunity that a New Year has to offer, but I would do a day at a time as I face it. I wish I could start each day like today, though.

As it turned out later, the day was the hottest day of 2023 (36C at 2:30PM). Then at 3PM a storm hit with strong and swirling winds over 90k/h, heavy rains (72mm in 1h). Our dog was frightened and asked to come inside the kitchen. A section of the roof leaked (possibly damaged by winds), a section of downstairs floor was flooded. Electricity blinked but stayed on. Phone service disrupted - including Internet service. The storm passed just after 4PM, leaving broken tree branches strewing everywhere, water washed out sections of our driveway and garden beds. Lot of dry leaves and sand got washed into the dam. More? We’d look tomorrow.
