A news that makes me wonder if they (Thai archeologists) would preserve "original gardens":

I visited เมืองโบราณศรีเทพ last September and noted that there were some (possible) features of ancient landscaping gardens. Here is a chance to establish "what ancient gardens could be like" (so far it seems that archeologists see more of stones and sculptures but nothing of historic plants, historic trees nor historic gardens -- another hallmark of civilization). Gardens tell a lot about life and mindset of people. Like music, cultures without gardens are not really cultures!

Let us hope these features are not destroyed in restoration and re-landscaping.
