The past tense of forget is forgot:

The past participle is forgotten or forgot:

Forgotten is more widely used than forgot

 but both forms are acceptable.

 

The past-tense form of forgat is archaic.

 

Misremember is an archaic or dialectal synonym 

       for forget 

and should never be used except, possibly, for humorous effect.

Don't use the verb 'forget' 

to say that you have put something somewhere and left it there. 

Instead you use the verb leave.

2. 'forget to'

If you forget to do something that you had intended to do, 

you do not do it because you do not remember it at the right time.

She forgot to lock her door one day and two men got in.

Don't forget to call Dad.

Be Careful!
Don't use an -ing form. 

Don't say, for example, 'She forgot locking her door'.
