Life Style of Diabetic Patients among the controlled and Uncontrolled Blood sugar
 in Cheangyuen village Maung  Udon thani Province  2008 .
Abstract 
                      The purpose of this study was  to described and compared the life styles of selected Diabetic patients.  The study group was conducted with controlled and uncontrolled patients who lives in Cheang Yeun Village, Maung District, Udon Thai Province.  The study consisted of 13 controlled and 21 uncontrolled blood sugar diabetic patients.  Data was collected according to indepth patient interviews and observations, covering information about the patients, their families and the communities .  Descriptive statistics and content analysis were used.      
                    The study found that those patients with controlled blood sugar levels lived a healthier life style and maintained a normal blood sugar level as opposed to those patients with uncontrolled blood sugar levels.Further study found that patients with controlled blood sugar levels practice and adhered to self care.30.7 percent received special care for their feet. 86.6 percent practice a proper diet. 83.4 percent were aware of the importance of regular exercise. 66.6 percent received the proper prescribed amount of sleep. 69.2 percent were tested with good mental health.84.6 percent took their recommended prescribed drugs on a regular schedule.76.9 percent practice frequent monthly blood sugar test.  It was noted that these patients were influence and received strong support from their families members. 
                     Furthermore, the uncontrolled blood sugar patients revealed that they had higher blood sugar and displayed frequent irregularly and received little or no special care for their feet. 71.4 percent did not practice a proper diet.85.7 percent did not follow a routine exercise program. 42.8 percent did not follow a proper sleep.23.8 percent did not follow their prescribed drug treatments. 39.1 percent did not follow routine check ups nor conducted proper monitoring of their blood sugar levels.34.7 percent received very little support from their families members .
                  After the evaluation was completed 69.2 percent of the uncontrolled group began to improve their methods in order to control their blood sugar levels.  Many patients in the study concern that their diabetics disease restricted and prevented them from living a normal life.  It was found that these patients did not have strong support from their families and community. the patients who concern their disease  affected their daily life were found to have a strong support base from their family and community.  It was determined that encouragement and support from their families and communities  enabled them to cope with their disease and complications that arose from their diabetic disabilities.
