Two VIP external instructors were invited to give us their knowledge and expeiance today.

The first one is Professor Dr. Chareonsak, former KU vice president and consultant of Agricultural minister of Thailand and the scecond is Dr. Peeradet, vice president of Thailand Research Fund.

 

Professor Dr. Chareonsak, gave us knowledge on topic “Research on Energy Plants”.

Even Thailand have lignite to be used as energy for 110 years and have NGV to be consumed for the next 26 years but that is enerygy from the hell that is not sustainable. True sustainable energy from heaven are Energy Providing Plants namely sugar cane, cassava and corn.

 

It has conflict using those plants for food or for energy. He ask us in class where is the balanced point and my answer is by using optimized “Selection Index” . In this concept we have two antagonistic effects that compete each other for limited plants. So, we have to set aggregate optimized gain based on linear equation of economic value multiply by genetic value of food and energy. We have to maximized correlation of this equation to another equation that composed of factor affecting quantity of those 3 plants.

 

While Thailand used 100% of sugar cane to produce sugar to have 100 kg sugar from 1 ton of sugar cane but Brazil produce 70 kg sugar plus 39 kg of ethanol.

 

The hit words he gave us is NICS = “Narok Is Coming Soon” given by Prof. Yongyuth 30 years ago and it was becoming true by now.

 

I did not believe in all of his teaching as well as he told me all my comment is not true but y2k I said in 1999 was proven to be true.

 

The Fact and Figures he gave us are surely true but behide those truth it always hidden by several things and mostly have wrong Key Performance Index.

 

That is fact Dr. Tipawal said why Phuket was honor to be the 1^st rank in Thailand province while rare students in the class not agree with that index.

 

The same happen to Impact Factor that KU assigned to all teachers to follow and will lead KU to hell.

 

The second instructor gave us knowledge on topic “Agriculture for Better Living and Global Economy”

 

He gave us figures that world population was now 6866 millions and will reach 7600 millions in 2020 and in 2050 it will be 9000 millions but land and agriculture has limited space.

At this moment , Thailand contain 66 million people but can feed 200 millions people but that is not guarunttee for uncertain future.

 

While japan had land to feed only 30% of their citizen but they used other country resource to feed them with thei totally control.

 

Another figure, 40% of Thai citizen are poor farmer but gave only 9% of TH income and most TH bosses want to get rid off those poor career. 39% of TH income coming from industry but half of industry is Agricultural based. So, to be honest, 39% of TH income coming from 40% the poor. This is an amazing figure.

 

The truth behide this figure is Agriculture is buffer for unemployment. He said in USA the same problem happen i.e. it has 9% unemployment but only 2% happen in agricultural states.

 

He predict 6 critical events will happen namely:

 

1. run out off energy

2. unfair land owner

3. competition of water usages

4. food shortage

5. unjustice in society

6. unemployment in production sectors

    

    

   He gave us “Thailand Current status export capability”

    

   In 1939-1945 it has 80% poor farmers, the figure reduce to 60% in 1982-1986 and reduced to 40% in 2007 but average age of the farmer increased from 33 yr in 1980 to 40 yr old in 2002 and to 51 yr in 2008. The higher age the more medical cost and the lower in productivity.

    

   The average land size increased from 3.2 rai in 1961 to 7.8 rai in 2008. This is incredible figure because land from father was partition by son and daughter but most of them was kicked out from being farmers and lost their land.

    

   He also give us several new slang technical terms namely Neutraceutical, Cosmaeceutical and Healthy snacking

   Dr. Tipawal tell us to extract explicit knowledge they gave and I do conclude it above.

   For analysis of what relation between above knowledge and R&D I would like to give it in number below:

   1. the knowledge they gave verified that SSE from HMJ the King was corrected

   2. also the principle they gave fit well to my Reverse Threshold Model Theory

   3. it has several topic for R&D student to be done but those topic should have priority to solve Thailand energy problem instead of serving exotic country eager.

   It can have days long discussion on my 3 conclusion above. I wish to present them at out next trip 24-27 September 2010.
