Developing Web Services with JAX-WS, NetBeans 6.1, and JBoss 4.2.2

1. Download and install these required tools:

Java JDK 1.6
NetBeans 6.1
JBoss 4.2.2 GA

2. Add JBoss server to NetBeans.

2.1 From NetBeans menu bar, select Tools > Servers
2.2 From the "Servers" dialog box, select "Add Server"
2.3 From the "Add Server Instance" dialog box
2.3.1 Select "JBoss Application Server"
2.3.2 Change Name to "JBoss 4.2.2 GA"
2.3.3 Click Next
2.3.4 Select server location like "D:\jboss-4.2.2.GA"
2.3.5 Click Next > Finish

3. Create new project.

3.1 From NetBeans menu bar, select File > New Project
3.2 From the "New Project" dialog box
3.2.1 Select Web > Web Application
3.2.2 Click Next
3.2.3 Input project name "JBossJAXWS"
3.2.4 Click Next
3.2.5 Select server "JBoss 4.2.2 GA" and "Java EE 5"
3.2.7 Click Finish

4. Create new Web Service.

4.1 Do right click on the project "JBossJAXWS" and select New > Web Service
4.2 From the "New Web Service" dialog box
4.2.1 Input web service name as "Hello"
4.2.2 Input the package name as "ws.demo"
4.2.3 Click Finish

5. Add Web Service Operations.

5.1 On the project "JBossJAXWS", expand the Web Services group
5.2 Do right click on the "Hello" class and select "Add Operation"
5.3 Input operation name "greet"
5.4 Click Add
5.5 Input parameter name as "name"
5.6 Click OK

6. Deploy Web Service.

6.1 Do right click on the project "JBossJAXWS" and select "Undeploy and Deploy"
6.2 Wait until deploy process successful

7. Access Web Service.

http:/localhost:8080/JBossJAXWS/Hello?wsdl
