เรื่องเล่าจากออสเตรเลีย (32.3)

         เมื่อที่ประชุมพร้อม ทางอาจารย์ประวิทย์ได้เกริ่นนำและแนะนำพวกเราทุกคนเริ่มจากอาจารย์หมอบุญชอบและปิดท้ายที่พี่ชัยเวช ซึ่งเป็นผู้นำเสนอ เนื่องจากเป็นผู้ที่ใช้ภาษาอังกฤษในการพูดและฟังดีที่สุดในกลุ่ม 6 คนของพวกเรา ใช้เวลานำเสนอประมาณ 15 นาที หลังการนำเสนอได้รับเสียงปรบมือและดูท่าทางว่าเป็นที่ชื่นชมของผู้ฟังมาก มีคำถาม 4-5 คำถาม หลังจากนั้นก็เป็นการรับประทานอาหารกลางวันกัน เนื้อหาที่ทีมเราได้นำเสนอแก่ที่ประชุม มีดังนี้

•         To explore what can be applicable to improve Thai rural health services
2. Brief overview of  Thai health system
National Health Policy
-   Right of access through three main schemes mostly government funded for all Thais (approximately 62 million : 2002)
-   Civil Servant Medical Benefit Scheme (16%)
-   Social Security Scheme (11%)
-   Universal Coverage : only 4 years developed(73%)
-   Private health insurance available
Funding
-   Government funded public system through the general revenue
-   Sin tax for additional health promotion ( approximately 2%)
-   Health Funding per GDP (approximately 4%)
