I had a talk with my supervisor yesterday afternoon. I raised the question; in what way is a summary different from a conclusion?

She explained a summary is literally about this, this, and this, and also this where as a conclusion needs to perhaps have a definite ‘side taking’ rather than sitting on the fence and just reporting the facts.  Conclusion includes what does it mean and what are the wider implications.

In addition to reporting what I found, in the conclusion I have to answer the “so what”.
