Eating high levels of soy products such as tofu can increase memory loss, according to scientists.
Tofu, which is made from curdled soy milk from the soya plant, is not only low in calories but contains plant hormones believed to have beneficial effects on health.
However, a study funded by the Alzheimer's Research Trust, has found that those who eat tofu more than once a day had a 20 per cent lower level of memory functioning than those eating very little of the product.
