Income Inequality to Education Disparity in Thailand

Income Inequality to Education Disparity in Thailand

In the past recent years, Thailand has long been a high ranked as most inequality country by various international polls. The inequality relevant to diversifying numerous issues, especially the gaps of education as ASEAN nation members are currently facing either. As far as I am concerned, tons of the young generation in Thailand are currently struggling in equality of education due to the fact that about the family income inequity towards children’s education opportunity so that they have to earn their own living and discontinue their education.

A survey of Equitable Education Fund (EEF) revealed that there are approximately 20 times of the rural area students compared with urban students don’t accessible to education opportunity such as taking extra tutorials clause that has essentially for Thai students in order to successfully preparing themselves entrance to the university compared with urban student. Therefore, I strongly believe that those students who doesn’t access to take extra tutorials clause might not be success competing with those urban area students. In addition, there are approximately 500,000 students have discontinued their education as well as approximately 2,000,000 students at risk of discontinuing their education either. As I mentioned previously, it reflects education is the most powerful to contribute each nation and to eliminate the issues that each nation is currently facing. Moreover, as what I have long been believed in education is also able to uplifting of economically weaker sections of society because education is the most important ingredient to change the world. Due to lack of education, many illiterate people suffer the hardships of discrimination, untouchability and injustices prevailing in the society but with the advancement of a good education. If all the people will be educated; this ultimately leads to the upliftment of economically weaker sections of society. The most important reason is communications because good education helps to communicate better with other people. It also improves our communication skills such as speech, body language etc.

In conclusion, if the government distribute the opportunity evenly then rural area students might be able to step up  and compete with those urban students, thus it is the responsibility of the government to highlight this significant issue through its national education policy.
