ความแตกต่าง ระหว่าง affect และ effect

เป็น กริยา affect หมายถึง "to act upon"

             หรือ "have an influence on" เช่น

                 "sunless days affect my mood."

 และยังหมายถึง "to make a show of" หรือ

       "to put on a pretense of" หรือ

"to feign" "to assume as"

       เช่น "to affect ignorance."

 ส่วน "effect" หมายถึง "to bring about หรือ create"

       เช่น "to effect a change."

ถ้า "affect" บางสิ่ง คือ "you do to it"

ถ้า "effect" บางสิ่ง คือ "you cause it to be"

นาม "effect" คือ "result, consequence, outcome."

และ "affect" คือ "สิ่งที่ได้มา เมื่อ "effect" บางสิ่ง เช่น

"the poem affected me deeply; it really had an effect on me."

นาม "affect" คือ คำจากภาควิชา psychotherapy หมายถึง

"emotional complex" เกี่ยวเนื่องกับ "idea หรือ mental state"

จำว่า ถ้าต้องการ นาม คำที่ใช้ คือ "effect"

และ ถ้าต้องการ กริยา คำที่ใช้ คือ "affect"

Clearly shown above that effect can be both ‘noun’ and ‘verb’ and used in both sense frequently. so …จำว่า ถ้าต้องการ นาม คำที่ใช้ คือ “effect” และ ถ้าต้องการ กริยา คำที่ใช้ คือ “affect”… can be confusing ;-)
