Yours { กริยา “deign” = “ถ่อมตน” เช่น “He would not deign to discuss the matter with us.” } is a common use of v: deign -- in negative sense -- (to mean) 'He would lose dignity to talk to us'.
But {“He deigned no reply.” } makes no sense. Perhaps "He deigned to reply"?
