มาทบทวนและรู้จัก Tense กันหน่อยดีมั๊ย
ได้อ่านข้อมูลความรู้ จาก website แล้วเห็นว่าได้ประโยชน์มาก จึงขอนำมาแบ่งปันกันนะ
Tense คือวิธีที่ใช้บอกเวลาว่าการกระทำอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่งนั้นเกิดขึ้นเมื่อไหร่ ภาษาไทยเราใช้คำประกอบเพื่อแสดงเวลาหรือกาล เช่น วิ่งมาแล้ว วิ่ง หรือ จะวิ่ง (อดีต ปัจจุบัน กับอนาคต ตามลำดับ) แต่ในภาษาอังกฤษคำกริยามักจะเปลี่ยนเมื่อกาลเปลี่ยน สะกดผิดกัน หรือบางทีสะกดเหมือนกันแต่อ่านออกเสียงผิดกัน บางคำอาจเพียงแต่เติม ed เพื่อแสดงว่าเป็นอดีต บางคำใช้คำประกอบเช่น will หรือ have ประกอบกับคำกริยา การผันคำกริยานี้ (เรียกว่า verb conjugation) มีกฎเกณฑ์ แต่หาคนอ้างได้ยากนอกเสียจากเป็นครูภาษาหรือเรียนอักษรศาสตร์ คนส่วนใหญ่อาศัยความเคยชิน หรือถ้าภาษาอังกฤษไม่ใช่ภาษาของเราก็ต้องท่อง เช่น go went gone เป็นต้น คล้ายสมัยเราอยู่ ป.1 ต้องท่อง กา ก่า ก้า ก๊า ก๋า บางคำนานๆใช้ทีก็ต้องเปิดดิก. ดู
กาล หรือ tense แบ่งเป็นหมวดใหญ่ๆได้ 3 หมวด คือ past tense (กาลอดีต) present tense (กาลปัจจุบัน) กับ future tense (กาลอนาคต)
Present Tense ใช้ในกรณีที่
1) การกระทำนั้นยังทำอยู่ในปัจจุบัน เช่น I run to school. I am glad to see you.
2) ใช้ในเมื่อพูดถึงสิ่งที่เป็นจริงหรือไม่เปลี่ยนแปลงตามเวลา
เช่น Bangkok is the capital of Thailand. The water in the ocean is salty.
3) อาจใช้เพื่อแสดงการกระทำที่เป็นประจำ
เช่น I play football every Wednesday.
4) บางทีใช้ present tense แทนใช้ future tense
เช่น I leave for Chiang Mai next week. ถูก แต่เป็นภาษาพูดมากกว่าภาษาเขียน จะให้ถูกต้องจริงๆ
ต้องใช้ I shall leave for Chiang Mai next week.
5) บางทีใช้ present tense เพื่อให้เหตุการณ์ในอดีตมีชีวิตชีวาหรือสะดุดตาขึ้น
เช่น The Constitution states that all men are equal.
ต้องไม่ใช้ present tense ในกรณีที่การกระทำนั้นเริ่มในอดีตแต่ยังไม่เสร็จสิ้น
เช่น I know this man for ten years. อันนี้ผิดเพราะเริ่มรู้จักเมื่อสิบปีก่อน ตอนนี้ก็ยังรู้จักอยู่ จะใช้ know ไม่ได้ เพราะ know เป็น present tense ต้องใช้ I have known this man for ten years.
Past Tense ใช้แสดงถึงสิ่งทีเกิดในอดีต จบสิ้นไปแล้ว
เช่น I sent a letter to Somsak yesterday. จดหมายส่งไปแล้ว
Future Tense ใช้แสดงถึงสิ่งที่จะเกิดขึ้นแต่ยังไม่เกิด เช่น I shall go to college next year.
แต่ละ tense ยังแบ่งเป็น 4 หมู่เหมือนกันหมด คือ Simple, Continuous, Perfect กับ Perfect Continuous ถ้าเข้าใจคำอังกฤษอาจทำให้จำได้ง่ายขึ้น
Simple แปลว่า ธรรมดา สามัญ ไม่โลดโผน
Continuous แปลว่า ติดต่อกัน ยังทำอยู่
Perfect แปลว่า หาที่ติไม่ได้ เสร็จสิ้นไปแล้ว
ดังนั้น Present tense ก็มี 4 อย่าง Simple present, Present continuous, Present perfect กับ Present perfect Continuous ส่วน Past tense กับ Future tense ก็เหมือนกัน แต่ละ tense มีแบ่งเป็น4 เหมือนกับ Present tense

Simple Present : I study English every day.
Present Continuous : I am studying English now.
Present Perfect : I have studied English in different schools.
Present Perfect Continuous : I have been studying English for five years.
Simple Past : Two years ago I studied English in Bangkok.
Past Continuous : I was studying English when you called this morning.
Past Perfect : I had studied English before I went to Australia.
Past Perfect Continuous : I had been studying English for five years before going to Australia.
Simple Future: I shall study English next year.
Future Continuous: I shall be studying English when you visit me tomorrow.
Future Perfect : I shall have studied all the tenses by the time I finish reading this.
Future Perfect Continuous: I shall have been studying English for over two hours by the time you see me.
แปลขยายความให้ได้ดังนี้
Simple Present - I study English everyday. เรียนทุกวัน
Present Continuous - I am studying English now. ขณะนี้กำลังเรียน
Present Perfect - I have studied English in different schools. ได้เรียนมาหลายแห่งแล้ว การใช้ Present Perfect แสดงว่านี้เลิกเรียนก่อนหน้านี้แล้ว แต่ไม่ได้กำหนดแน่ว่าเลิกไปเมื่อไหร่แน่ (ต่างกับ Past Perfect ตรงที่แบบหลังนี้จะบ่งแน่นอนว่าเลิกเมื่อไหร่)
Present Perfect Continuous - I have been studying English for five years. เรียนมา 5 ปีแล้ว ตอนนี้ก็ยังเรียนอยู่
Simple Past - Two years ago I studied English in Bangkok. เมื่อสองปีที่แล้วเรียนที่กทม. ตอนนี้เลิกไปแล้ว
Past Continuous - I was studying English when you called this morning. เมื่อเช้า(อดีต)ตอนคุณโทร.มากำลังเรียนอยู่ อดีตก็จริงแต่ตอนนั้นกำลังเรียนอยู่
Past Perfect - I had studied English before I went to Australia. เรียนก่อนไปออสเตรเลีย ใช้ Past Perfect ในเมื่อการเลิกกระทำนั้นมีจุดแน่นอน ในที่นี้การไปออสเตรเลียเป็นจุดจบ ต่างกับ Present Perfect ข้างต้น
Past Perfect Continuous - I had been studying English for five years before going to Australia. ก่อนไปออสเตรเลียได้เรียนอยู่ ๕ ปี แสดงว่าตอนนั้นกำลังเรียนอยู่แต่มาเลิกตอนไป ไม่ค่อยแตกต่างกับ Past Perfect (I had been studying English ... กับ I had studied English ... ความหมายไม่ต่างกันนัก ตอนนั้นเรียนอยู่ กับ ตอนนั้นกำลังเรียนอยู่)
Simple Future - I shall study English next year. ปีหน้าจะเรียน
Future Continuous - I shall be studying English when you visit me tomorrow. พรุ่งนี้(อนาคต)เวลาคุณมาหาจะกำลังเรียนอยู่
Future Perfect - I shall have studied all the tenses by the time I finish reading this. กว่าจะอ่านนี่จบ(อนาคต)ก็เรียนรู้เรื่อง tense หมดแล้ว
Future Perfect Continuous - I shall have been studying English for over two hours by the time you see me. กว่าคุณจะพบผม ผมก็จะเรียนภาษาไปกว่าสองชม.แล้ว ไม่ต่างกับ Future Perfect ที่ว่า I shall have studied English for over two hours by the time you see me. เท่าไหร่นัก หวังว่าคงทำให้เข้าใจมากขึ้นหน่อยนะ...

ขอบคุณครับ ผมมีเรื่องถามนิดครับ ตอนเราโควตคำพูดคนอื่นเนี่ย (อาจไม่ยิ่งใหญ่แบบ Ohm จนกลายเป็น fact ไปแล้ว) แต่เป็นคนธรรมดาคนหนึ่ง เช่น
In his memior John says: "I am very sick."
In his memior John said: "I am very sick."
อันไหนถูกครับ (อ่าน นสพ. ฝรั่ง เจอทั้งสองรูปแบบ)
หรือ อีก ไสตล์
"I am very sick", said he.
"I am very sick", says John.
แบบนี้ก็เคยเจอ
