คนแก่ คนสูง คนเตี้ย คนชรา ...
คนมีอายุ(มาก/สูง) คนอายุมาก คนอายุสูง ...
คำขยายนาม ตามหลัง คำนาม
แต่ "ผู้สูงอายุ" (old/adbanced age people) ไม่เข้ารูปแบบภาษาไทย
คำ ผู้สูงอายุ ค้นไม่เจอ โปรดพิมพ์ใหม่ (royin does not list this)
สูงอายุ ว. มีอายุมาก. (royin accepts this)
As we can see Royin.go.th doesnot list one word and accepts one (วิเศษณ์).
Perhaps the Royal Institute should make its position clearer for the Thai language sake. ;-)
เป็นการสร้างคำแบบไม่ปกติ แต่การใช้แบบนี้ก็มีอีกหลายคำครับ
ผู้สูงวัย ผู้อ่อนประสบการณ์ สินค้าด้อยคุณภาพ เด็กแก่แดด ฯลฯ
Yes. There are many irregular compounds (words) in Thai language.
The real question is
How do we learn to make new compounds (words)? นาม+วิเศษณ์ ขยายนาม
or "adjective before noun" as in English?
Most people could be confused. I know I am confused by this 'double standard'.
Should we clear up this Thai language confusion?
