ธรรมดาของการทำงาน หรือการใช้ชีวิตใด ๆ ย่อมมีปัญหา ทางพุทธแนะให้พิจารณาปัญหา (ทุกข์) แล้วหาทางออกโดยใช้สติ (ปัญญา)
เคยพูดกันเล่น ๆ ว่าทำงานกับชาวต่างชาตินั้นสบายใจกว่าคนไทยมากนัก ทำไมนั่นหรือ ทั้ง ๆ ที่วัฒนธรรม ภาษาแตกต่างกันมากมาย แต่ภายใต้พื้นฐานของเหตุและผล (ปราศจากอคติ) ทำให้ทุกเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดปัญหานั้นสามารถคลี่คลายได้ ด้วยเหตุและปัจจัยภายในสถานการณ์เอง และหลายครั้งที่พบว่าผู้คนที่พูดจากภาษาแม่เดียวกัน วัฒนธรรมเดียวกัน แม้ธิบายพื้นฐานของเหตุและผล แต่เต็มไปด้วยกิเลสและอคติ ทำอย่างไรก็ไม่สามารถเข้าใจกันได้ แม้ภาษาปากบอกว่าเข้าใจ (นี่เป็นนิสัยหนึ่ง ที่ชาวตะวันตกมีน้อยมาก เพราะเขาพูดและคิดเหมือนกัน ในขณะที่เอเชีย พูดอย่างหนึ่ง คิดอย่างหนึ่ง ยิ้มเพื่ออย่างหนึ่ง)
ที่สำคัญคือการไม่พยายามแก้ปัญหาที่ตรงจุด นำมาซึ่งสิ่งค้างคาใจ และไม่มีทางออก ดังนั้นวันนี้จึงอยากนำเสนอความแตกต่างระหว่างตะวันตก และตะวันออก เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจกันและกันมากขึ้น และขอส่งท้ายก่อนไปอ่านความแตกต่างดังกล่าวว่า หากไม่พบวิถีทางที่จะแก้ปัญหาจริง ๆ เวลาจะเป็นตัวช่วยที่ดีที่สุด เพราะเมื่อยามแสงแรกของวันใหม่โผล่พ้นขอบฟ้า ก็นำพาบางเหตุการณ์ผ่านพ้นไป ฉะนั้น เดินไปข้างหน้า และทิ้งเรื่องบางเรื่องไว้ข้างทางจะดีที่สุด รอเผื่อมีใครมาพบมัน แล้วเก็บมันขึ้นมาใหม่ ถึงวันนั้น เหตุและปัจจัยของวันนั้นอาจจะเป็นทางออกสำหรับอดีตที่คลำหาอยู่นานก็เป็นได้
